Good morning,
I'm up for my 3-6am watch.  We are abeam of SC.  Departed Half Moon Bay at 7pm to a gorgeous sunset.  Liz made us an outstanding salmon salad which hit the spot and I went to sleep.  No wind, so we are motoring about 6kts heading for Morro Bay.  The sky is deep with approx 1 zillion stars, many shooters here and there.  It is quite warm with tons of moon jellies and luminescence one the water. My coffee is kicking in and it smells delectable in the cabin.  Mmmmmmmmmm coffee. Wish you were here too :)

Subject: Another Update

Update:  Phone Call Received 6pm Saturday 10/13. Mark was able to reach me by phone with a good connection.

At 6pm, they are about 5 miles north of Piedras Blancas, 5 miles offshore.
They are ahead of schedule and could arrive as early as 2:00am.
They have been taking naps here and there.
Lawrence and Michael enjoyed racing with 2 dolphins while Mark was napping.
They have been motoring about half the time.

Early this morning was exciting sailing with 20 Knots of wind, sailing/surfing downwind.
Dolphin
When the wind died down to about 10 or 11 knots, they put out the Screecher (multi-hull genoa type head-sail).

The breeze is coming up again and Mark was off to put up another sail.

Liz

p.s. For Kevin: They will likely anchor or tie up to a mooring ball because the Morro Bay Yacht Club's dock is closed this weekend for racing. I am planning to change the rental car pick-up time to about noon on Sunday. They will need a ride to SLO Airport for the rental car and I'm hoping you're the taxi man. Keep us posted when you see the whites of their eyes.

Thanks Liz. We're now motor-sailing with just the screecher and making good progress.

Can see lights on at Hotel California (Hearst Castle). ETA to Morro Bay could be 1:00 … good thing we finished work on the second anchor today.
